#Expo15NHS Roundup

We have only just recovered from the great week we shared with colleagues last week at NHS Expo 2015. Two days were packed with exciting new NHS innovations and ideas. The enthusiasm for change was contagious!

The 2 points of interest we picked up on was that...

Jeremy Hunt has said that "Within the next 3 years, 1/4 of smartphone users will be interacting with their NHS services and data through them"

and that... "By 2016, all patients should have access to their patient records online".

We love this forward thinking.... and we are always keen to collaborate with innovative projects. We know that this vision will need strong leadership to take it forward into practice. We will be integrating this vision within our programmes to encourage the uptake of a digital future for our students.

Also we were so pleased to hear the positive rhetoric in relation to #NHS staff health and well being resonating from Simon Steven's speech at the Expo ...

Our favourite quote of the Expo was from Simon Stevens when he said that “NHS staff have some of the most critical but demanding jobs in the country. When it comes to supporting the health of our own workforce, frankly the NHS needs to put its own house in order."

This has been backed up by a new £5 million initiative.. order to make this happen, we need new platforms of change. @helenbevan once again impressed us with her presentation on how change platforms can help change the #NHS. We see this every day in our workshops too!...

Lastly, we celebrated a presentation with Sally Pezaro, one of our alumni students who presented her work alongside NHS England and Rhian Bishop (Staff Engagement Lead at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust) on Improving staff experience to improve performance

This session focused on the impact staff engagement and experience has on organisational performance, specifically patient experience. The session was aimed at commissioners and policy makers, and outlined why staff experience is so important. It also offered examples from an organisation has has improved staff experience to great effect.

#Expo15NHS

We took so many great ideas home with us from this conference and will definitely be using these to inspire our new leadership programmes and our collaborative working partners.

Sharing our knowledge of best practice is the key to a brighter future for the #NHS...

We want everyone to shine, grow and lead...
